January Empties!

January has been a very busy month for empties. I am making a conscientious effort to use up all my half used product and sample sizes over the next few months so that I can’t start on all the new products I got for Christmas in March when Spring arrives (as I have mentioned before I am a very seasonal beauty lover). I have separated them into categories:

HAIR CARE

*Silvikrin Classic Hairspray Natural Hold 250ml

wella silvikrin

I have only recently started using hairspray on a daily basis. I’ve become a little obsessed with having a really sleek ponytail.

I picked this up while I was out and about,  I found this really effective in taming my fly aways and brushes right out. I also like that this hairspray helps to protect my hair from UV damage. This costs £3.29 and is available from Boots. Continue reading

December 2014 Empties!

Hi Ladies,

I am really sorry this is going up late. December was a really busy month for empties. This was due to the fact that I made a conscious effort to use up products in order to make room for any toiletries that I got for Christmas (which turned out to be a great idea as I got lots). So let get started:

Baylis & Harding_Fotor

Baylis & Harding sweet mandarin & Grapefruit Balancing Body wash (300ml)

I got this as part of a gift set for my birthday. I actually used this as a hand wash rather than a shower gel as it had added vitamins & I felt my hands needed it more than the rest of my body. This smelled subtly citrus which I prefer to full on fruity overload. 7/10

elemis shower cream_Fotor

Elemis Skin Nourishing Shower Cream 100ml

I love this shower cream. It is so thick and creamy and it leaves my skin lovely & soft and lightly fragranced. It is a great luxury product to use in the evening just before bed. 10/10

elizabeth arden untold_Fotor

Elizabeth Arden Untold

I would say this is one of my favourite winter scents; I first purchased it around Christmas time so it always reminds me of the festive season whenever I smell it. I was so disappointed when I ran out in the first week of December, but my boyfriend got me the gift set for Christmas (I did drop a lot of hints!). This perfume gets 10/10!

Estee lauder idealist_Fotor

Estée Lauder Idealist skin Illuminator

I got this last Christmas as part of a skin care set and really enjoyed the results. I wore this as a serum under my foundation for a subtle highlighting shimmer. It is a little pricey so I would have to re-purchase when I am Feeling a little flush. 9/10

Illamasqua hydra veil_Fotor

Illamasqua Hydra Veil 3ml

I got given this sample when I purchased my Illamasqua Pure Pigment (which is mind blowing btw). Now this primer has a very unusual consistency that reminds me of frogspawn lol. It’s a really thick jelly, but don’t let this put you off, as it is amazing! I applied it before my foundation & I found it kept my base in place all evening (and I was in warm club). This is definitely going to be a repurchase for me! 9/10

Korres_Fotor

Korres Citrus Shower Gel

Although I used this entire sample I didn’t really enjoy using it. I’m not a huge fan of sharp citrus smells I prefer my shower Gels to have a creamy scent & consistency. I got this in one of my beauty boxes (I can’t remember which). 5/10

Liz Earle Cleanse and polish_Fotor

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser

I don’t know how but I ended up with a good few samples of this product and decided to try it. I fell in love. As I have mentioned recently, I’m all about the double cleanse at the moment. I have been using this cream cleanser to remove all my makeup and daily buildup and then following it up with my new Clinique sonic system. A definite repurchase! 10/10

Monu spa hand cream_Fotor

Monu Spa Hand & Nail Cream

I am obsessed with hand cream. I cannot remember where I got this hand cream from but it has been a firm favourite this December. It left my hands feeling super soft with a nice subtle scent. 8/10

mythic oil mask_Fotor

L’Oreal Mythic Oil Nourishing Masque

I believe I go this in a beauty box & may have already blogged about it. I already use the oil in my hair after blow-drying to smooth any fly aways. When washing my hair I prefer to apply a mask to my hair instead of conditioner & this worked a treat, leaving my hair silky soft. The full sized product costs £15.90, which I find pretty expensive so I’m not sure about a re-purchase. 8/10

nivea _Fotor

Nivea Double Effect eye make-up remover

I’m sure I featured this in one of favourite blogs. I bought this as a replacement for my NARS remover as it was so costly. I was shocked at how efficient this product was. It removes my eye make-up with no drag and no effort. I have repurchased this already. 9/10.

penhaligons_Fotor

Penhaligons of London Blenheim Bouquet Shower Gel 300ml

I think this has featured both in past Favourites & Empties posts. Both my boyfriend & myself are in love with this product. It is pricey at £25.00 a bottle, but it smells so delicious we can’t resist. 10/10!

Pro collagen_Fotor

Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream

As far as skin care goes, this is my Holy Grail. I cannot rave about this product enough.

It smells amazing, feels luxurious on application and leaves my skin feeling and looking nourished. I got a Pro-collagen gift set for Christmas so I didn’t have t go out without for too long. There is no other moisturiser that blows me away like this does 10/10!

the white company lotion_Fotor

The White Company – Hand & Body Lotion 30ml

I got this in the bathroom when we stayed at the Palace Hotel, Manchester. I have been using this as a travel sized hand cream and really liked it. 8/10.

Tresemme 60 second_Fotor

Tresemme Platinum Strength Treatment

If I am to be honest I didn’t really notice a huge improvement to my hair after using this product. It didn’t leave my hair overly soft and didn’t leave it really shiny. This was a disappointment. 4/10.

So those are the products that I used up in December. I hope you enjoyed reading it.

You beauty Discovery – Advent Calendar!

Hi Ladies,

I decided that this year I really wanted to get another Beauty Advent Calendar.

I got one last year and absolutely loved it!! I have the You Beauty discovery advent calendar it costs £49.95 and is available from: http://www.youbeautydiscovery.co.uk/luxury-boxes/adventcalendar.html

Calendar

I decided it would be a nice idea if I blogged everyday about the Beauty goodies I get behind each door and what I thought about them.

Day 1.

So today was Day 1. I have been so excited about opening the first day ever since the Calendar got delivered (two weeks of not touching this calendar drove me nuts!).

Behind door one was a 30ml Tube of Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, a Muslin Cloth and a Little ‘Ultimate Cleansing Guide’ Booklet.

I was so impressed that today’s treat was a triple gift.

Liz Earle trio

I have used Liz Earle products before and it was this cleanser that got me into using Muslin Cloths. I never use anything else when cleansing my face now.

I love that it’s a treat size so I can take it with me when I go for a weekend away!

The Booklet was really interesting too as it gave me lots of information about the cleanser that I wasn’t aware of. I learned that it has eucalyptus, rosemary and Chamomile in it to Purify, Tone and soothe making it perfect for all skin types.

This product has also won 100 Industry awards, which is just amazing!

The booklet also contained a little price list and Liz Earle contact details which is really handy to have.

I am really pleased with this Treat I give it 10/10 – overall a fantastic start!!

I can’t wait for door number 2 now!!
