December 2014 Empties!

Hi Ladies,

I am really sorry this is going up late. December was a really busy month for empties. This was due to the fact that I made a conscious effort to use up products in order to make room for any toiletries that I got for Christmas (which turned out to be a great idea as I got lots). So let get started:

Baylis & Harding_Fotor

Baylis & Harding sweet mandarin & Grapefruit Balancing Body wash (300ml)

I got this as part of a gift set for my birthday. I actually used this as a hand wash rather than a shower gel as it had added vitamins & I felt my hands needed it more than the rest of my body. This smelled subtly citrus which I prefer to full on fruity overload. 7/10

elemis shower cream_Fotor

Elemis Skin Nourishing Shower Cream 100ml

I love this shower cream. It is so thick and creamy and it leaves my skin lovely & soft and lightly fragranced. It is a great luxury product to use in the evening just before bed. 10/10

elizabeth arden untold_Fotor

Elizabeth Arden Untold

I would say this is one of my favourite winter scents; I first purchased it around Christmas time so it always reminds me of the festive season whenever I smell it. I was so disappointed when I ran out in the first week of December, but my boyfriend got me the gift set for Christmas (I did drop a lot of hints!). This perfume gets 10/10!

Estee lauder idealist_Fotor

Estée Lauder Idealist skin Illuminator

I got this last Christmas as part of a skin care set and really enjoyed the results. I wore this as a serum under my foundation for a subtle highlighting shimmer. It is a little pricey so I would have to re-purchase when I am Feeling a little flush. 9/10

Illamasqua hydra veil_Fotor

Illamasqua Hydra Veil 3ml

I got given this sample when I purchased my Illamasqua Pure Pigment (which is mind blowing btw). Now this primer has a very unusual consistency that reminds me of frogspawn lol. It’s a really thick jelly, but don’t let this put you off, as it is amazing! I applied it before my foundation & I found it kept my base in place all evening (and I was in warm club). This is definitely going to be a repurchase for me! 9/10

Korres Citrus Shower Gel

Although I used this entire sample I didn’t really enjoy using it. I’m not a huge fan of sharp citrus smells I prefer my shower Gels to have a creamy scent & consistency. I got this in one of my beauty boxes (I can’t remember which). 5/10

Liz Earle Cleanse and polish_Fotor

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser

I don’t know how but I ended up with a good few samples of this product and decided to try it. I fell in love. As I have mentioned recently, I’m all about the double cleanse at the moment. I have been using this cream cleanser to remove all my makeup and daily buildup and then following it up with my new Clinique sonic system. A definite repurchase! 10/10

Monu spa hand cream_Fotor

Monu Spa Hand & Nail Cream

I am obsessed with hand cream. I cannot remember where I got this hand cream from but it has been a firm favourite this December. It left my hands feeling super soft with a nice subtle scent. 8/10

mythic oil mask_Fotor

L’Oreal Mythic Oil Nourishing Masque

I believe I go this in a beauty box & may have already blogged about it. I already use the oil in my hair after blow-drying to smooth any fly aways. When washing my hair I prefer to apply a mask to my hair instead of conditioner & this worked a treat, leaving my hair silky soft. The full sized product costs £15.90, which I find pretty expensive so I’m not sure about a re-purchase. 8/10

nivea _Fotor

Nivea Double Effect eye make-up remover

I’m sure I featured this in one of favourite blogs. I bought this as a replacement for my NARS remover as it was so costly. I was shocked at how efficient this product was. It removes my eye make-up with no drag and no effort. I have repurchased this already. 9/10.

Penhaligons of London Blenheim Bouquet Shower Gel 300ml

I think this has featured both in past Favourites & Empties posts. Both my boyfriend & myself are in love with this product. It is pricey at £25.00 a bottle, but it smells so delicious we can’t resist. 10/10!

Pro collagen_Fotor

Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream

As far as skin care goes, this is my Holy Grail. I cannot rave about this product enough.

It smells amazing, feels luxurious on application and leaves my skin feeling and looking nourished. I got a Pro-collagen gift set for Christmas so I didn’t have t go out without for too long. There is no other moisturiser that blows me away like this does 10/10!

the white company lotion_Fotor

The White Company – Hand & Body Lotion 30ml

I got this in the bathroom when we stayed at the Palace Hotel, Manchester. I have been using this as a travel sized hand cream and really liked it. 8/10.

Tresemme 60 second_Fotor

Tresemme Platinum Strength Treatment

If I am to be honest I didn’t really notice a huge improvement to my hair after using this product. It didn’t leave my hair overly soft and didn’t leave it really shiny. This was a disappointment. 4/10.

So those are the products that I used up in December. I hope you enjoyed reading it.

calendar collage

Day 17: Rodial Stem cell Super-food Glam lip balm.

Day 18: John Masters Organics shampoo & conditioner

I was happy to receive these as I am always using up my miniature shampoo/conditioner treatments whenever I go away for the weekend. The fact that this duo is jam-packed with nutritious goodies for your hair make it all the more appealing. The full size products cost £16.00 each for 8fl.oz pack.

Day 19: Benefit Porefessional Primer

This has been one of my all time favourite Benefit products for sometime now. I love having miniatures of this that I can just pop in my handbag or makeup kit. A saviour for anyone with enlarged pores. A full sized tube costs £24.50.

Day 20: James Read Tan

As I have said before me & fake tan don’t get on very well, so this was given to my partners teenage daughter, as I have no need for it.

Day 21: Bio Effect Serum.

I love trying out new serums s I was excited to receive this. I look forward to incorporating it in to my daily skin care routine. The full sized serum costs £125.00 making this sample worth £20.83!!!!

This is a full sized product that usually retails at £10.00, which I thought was really good. It smells delicious; I would definitely consider this as a repurchase.

Day 23: Maddie Alexander Rose Bath Oil

I love this cute little bottle of scented bath oil! I don’t have a bath L so I will be saving this for when I next go away so I can treat myself to a luxurious bathing experience. This mini oil retails for £10.00, which makes this a cute present idea.

Day 24: This works Sleep Plus+ Pillow Spray

I first came across this product when staying at a nice hotel in London. Every evening we would come back to our room and find a miniature of this spray sitting on our pillows. It smells so relaxing & whenever I smell it I always think of London at Christmas time so I think this is a perfect way to end the calendar.

I have truly enjoyed opening this calendar every day and finding little treats to pamper myself & lift my spirits. I will 100% be repurchasing this next year!

I wanted to take this opportunity to wish you all a bright & sparkly Christmas & a prosperous New Year!!

John Frieda Blow Dry Lotion – Advent Day 14!

Hi Ladies,

I’m sorry this is going up a day late but yesterday was pretty much spent traveling back from London – so it’s putting it up today xx

door 14

On day 14 I received a miniature John Frieda Luxurious Volume Blow dry lotion.

Basically you add this to your roots and it ‘Creates perfect lift at the crown’.

I tried this and at first it did smell quite chemically and felt really sticky on my hands. Although it did add a little volume, it also left a residue on my hair so I probably wont be using it again.

The full sized product (125ml) retails for £5.89.

The sample size I received (25ml) retails for £1.99

This is far from my favourite product 😦

Are you a fan of this product or brand? Let me know in the comments.
