May/ June Empties

Hi There,

It’s come to that time again when all of my empties have piled up into one big mountain. I do have quite a lot so I have decided to tackle them in groups. The first group is Perfume & Skincare. So these are the products I have used up during May/June…

eternity moment

Eternity Moment By Calvin Klein 30ml

I have had this scent in my collection for years and I wouldn’t have it any other way. This was my signature scent in my early twenties so it reminds me of all the fun stuff I did, like going to festivals & gigs. As I have mentioned in the past I categorize my perfumes into spring/summer and Autumn/Winter. For me this falls in the summer category, as it is such a light, sweet fragrance. I have already purchased a replacement. 5/5

eye make up remover

L’Oreal Gentle Make-up remover Eye 125ml

This eye makeup remover didn’t blow me away. I found I needed to go over it quite a bit and then go in with a cleansing balm afterwards and it left my eyes feeling quite sore. It also had a smell that reminded me of that silly putty that was around when I was a kid. This will not be a repurchase. 2/5

Dermalogica Ultra Calming Serum Concentrate 4ml

This is a gel cream consistency and has a lovely silky smooth finish. It smells so fresh and sinks in relatively quickly but I’m not sure I was getting the full benefits. This is because the serum works to calm down irritation and restore sensitive skin and I don’t really have irritated or overly sensitive skin. I do think this item would be great if you do suffer from sensitivity issues though, and it does feel very soothing. 4/5

liz earle moisturiser2

Liz Earle Skin repair moisturiser – 15ml

I took this sample size with me to the south of France and I liked how soft my skin felt, so I continued to use it once I got home. This is such a thick, luxurious cream and a little goes a long way. The only downside is the smell, it does smell very synthetic. Other than that I really enjoyed using it! 4/5

Eight hour cream

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream – 7ml

I have already blogged about how much I love this product, so I wont repeat myself but I have quite a few tubes of this wonder product. 5/5

The Second category is Hair, it usually takes me ages to get through my hair products but I got through a few this time…

liz earle shampoo

Liz Earle Botanical Shine Shampoo 50ml

I got this as part of a Liz Earle gift set that contained lots of travel size Liz Earle products.

I know I have moaned in both this blog and in others about the scent of some Liz Earle products but this shampoo smells really nice. The shampoo is like a super smoothie for your hair. It contains Vitamin E, Aloe Vera, West African Shea butter and both apple & orange extracts. These all combined to leave my hair feeling silky soft and smelling fantastic. A definite repurchase – 5/5

ultimate blends

Garnier Ultimate Blends 1 Minute Treatment

As I dye my hair I prefer to use a treatment mask to nourish my hair instead of conditioner then when I get out the shower I spray on a leave in conditioner. This mask illuminates colour (which I love) and smells divine. It contains Argan oil & cranberry extract, which is full of anti-oxidants. I really liked this and would love to try more in the range – 5/5

beauty protector conditioner

Beauty Protector Leave in Conditioner

I have recently gotten into using leave in conditioner in my hair and this product was fabulous. I received it in my monthly Birch Box a while back and finally got round to using it. Sometimes I find leave in conditioners can make your hair look greasy and limp but this doesn’t do that at all. It smells of shea butter, which is lovely and left my hair feeling nicely conditioned and non-fluffy. 4/5

The final category is Bath & Body and this makes up the bulk of my empties this time, so this is what I have been smothering myself with this month…

ellen tracy scrub

Ellen Tracy Body Scrub – 650ml

I picked this up from Homesense a few months ago and it has taken me so long to get through it. It was a really large tub and it only cost £3.99 which was a real bargain! I have really become addicted to body scrubs the past two months and have made a conscious effort to incorporate it into my shower regime. I use a body scrub 2-3 times a week to slough away all the dead skin cells and increase circulation. This body scrub smelled of Cocoa butter and felt so good on the skin it wasn’t too abrasive like some scrubs can be it was just right. 4.5/5

rituals scrub

Rituals Fortune Scrub 150ml

I got this scrub in my Beauty Advent Calendar and I really wanted to give it a try.

This is a perfect body scrub to use in the morning as it has a deliciously zingy fragrance of organic mandarin which definitely kick-starts the senses. Again this is a fine scrub in a gel formula so isn’t overly abrasive and leaves skin feeling soft and nourished. I also really liked the bright orange packaging. I would 100% repurchase this product. 5/5

T London Darjeeling Bath & Shower Gel 50ml

(sorry for the lack of picture)

I received this shower gel in a beauty box and I really enjoyed using it. It literally smells like freshly brewed tea, which I thought was really fresh and stimulating. Because it is a very neutral smell I would say this is very much a unisex product. I would definitely purchase this product 4/5

Indian night jasmine

The Body Shop Indian Night Jasmine 250ml

This is by far one of my favourite scents from the body shop. It’s a lovely musky/floral scent, which I find really relaxing. I have also recently bought the body spritz of this too as I love it so much – 5/5.

SENSPA Relaxing Body Wash – 200ml

This scent is made up of Lavender, Bergamot, Patchouli and Geranium which are all relaxing essential oils. This makes for a very relaxing shower gel that is perfect for use in the shower or bath before bedtime. I picked this up from Waitrose for around £6.99 and I would highly recommend – 4.5/5

seaweed therapy

Seaweed Therapy Energizing Body Lotion 31ml

I got this in a hotel and used it while in France. I don’t feel it really did much for me. It had no effect on my dry legs and took ages to sink into the skin and really didn’t smell that great. A huge disappointment – 1/5

Clarins Satin Smooth Body Lotion 100ml

I got this at Christmas as part of a Clarins beauty set and I really liked it. I loved that it was a very thin formula which meant that it was quickly absorbed by my skin and it was nice and light which is perfect for the warm weather we have been having. There was also something very comforting about it’s baby powder scent too. I will definitely be repurchasing this – 5/5

clarins foot

Clarins Foot Beauty Treatment Cream 30ml

Again, this was part of the gift set I got. I have very dry feet so I feel this really helped. I used it at night with moisture socks and I felt the thick cream helped to lock in the moisture. 4/5

hand food

Soap & Glory Hand Food 125ml

I have gone through so many of these over the years, I just feel you cannot go wrong with a tube of this. It smells so good and leaves my hands feeling moisturised. Another thing I love about this is that it is so inexpensive – 5/5.

So those are my empties for May/June 2015. Have you used any of these products? What did you think? Let me know in the comments.
