I know it’s been forever since I blogged but my business is really starting to take off and as I am a one-man band I have been extremely busy. Today I thought I’d ease back into blogging by posting about the cosmetics that have really been floating my boat this past month. Some of them are luxury beauty, but a lot of them are from the drugstore. I’ll do them in order that I put them on my face, so lets jump in….
Clarins True Radiance Foundation (30ml)
Shade: 102.5 Porcelain
I really enjoy using this foundation. It is full coverage but without being cakey on the skin and smells delicious! It comes with a pump top and I find that one pump pretty much does my whole face so this foundation has lasted me for ages. I don’t tend to wear this on a daily basis, as I don’t usually like using full coverage all day. This is definitely my evening foundation and covers all my imperfections. I could not recommend this more!
Rimmel wake me up concealer
I usually wear the Rimmel wake me up foundation on a daily basis as it isn’t too heavy and gives a nice medium coverage, so it made sense to me to try the concealer. I have tried quite a few drug store concealers that other bloggers have raved about and they looked awful so I tried this one and Hallelujah it was a match. I have a very blue under eye area and this neutralized this perfectly without looking too yellow. Unfortunately I have run out so was unable to take a picture because I stupidly threw it away! Definitely a re-purchase!
Benefit fake up concealer (3.5g)
Shade: 01 Light
This is my new Holy Grail concealer and I wear it over the top of the Wake me up concealer to add brightness under my eye. I really like this, as it isn’t like any other out there! It comes in a tube like a lipstick and consists of a concealer core with an outer layer of vitamin E balm, which moisturises the eye area preventing the concealer from lying in any lines or wrinkles that you may have. It definitely works to brighten my under eye, I wouldn’t leave home without it! So long under eye baggage!!
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder
Shade: 001 Transparent
Price: £3.99 (A bloody bargain!)
I know everyone raves about this powder but that’s because it’s amazing! It blots away any shine that I usually have in my T-Zone and doesn’t leave that ashy texture that other powders can. As you can see this goes on my face every day and I have hit pan so I will definitely be repurchasing this bad boy! There’s not much more to say except I love it and prefer it to some of my higher end powders!
MAC pro long-wear Eyeshadow
Shade: Bloom on
Available: www. Maccosmetics.co.uk
This is definitely a daily use for me. If I’m not using it as a neutral Eyeshadow then I’m using it as a base. A very light, dusky, neutral pink, it literally goes with every outfit! I really love the versatility. I also like that it is a bigger pan than the regular eye shadows. It really made me want to buy more in this range. Love it!!
Bourjois Smoky Stories Quad Eyeshadow
Shade: 03 I Love Blue
I was drawn to this palette as I didn’t have any grey colours in my collection and thought it would be fun to try a grey Smokey eye. I liked that the colours were so varied, the only down side was the central shimmer. It’s a really chunky glitter shimmer and the fall out was terrible. Glittery cheeks are not a good look for anyone, let alone a woman in her early thirties!!! Over all though, I love the colours in this quad and I’ve found a new appreciation for the colour grey!
Bourjois Smoky Stories Quad Eyeshadow
Shade: 06 Upside Brown
As I loved the Grey quad so much I went back and purchased the Brown one.
Again I love the colours but could live without the shimmer. The one thing I really like about these quads is the blend ability of the formula. I have used it ALOT since I bought it. I am a huge fan of Bourjois products, they’re definitely my favourite drugstore brand, I am yet to use a product of theirs that I didn’t like! (I hope I haven’t just jinxed myself!).
Rimmel Scandaleyez precision micro Liner
Shade: 001 Black
I really enjoy using this eyeliner. It has a thin precision tip, which allows you more control over the effect of the liner. I found that the liner stayed in place all day, it didn’t flake off, it didn’t smudge and most of all it didn’t bleed on to the top of my eyelid like some other past purchases have. My new favourite liner!
Lollipops Long Lasting Eye Pencil
Shade: 701 Goodbye Moon
I am pretty sure I received this in my Birchbox or Glossybox a few months back. I have only just got round to using it and I love it! Lollipops are a Parisian company and their packaging is super cute! This eye pencil has a really thick creamy consistency, which makes it perfect for blending. I would definitely like to try more of their products.
Benefit Roller Lash Mascara (8.5g)
Shade: One Shade Only
For me this is one of the most exciting mascaras I have used in a long time. I am a fan of lashes that have that wow factor and this mascara certainly delivers! I have been looking for a daytime mascara that gave more of a lengthening effect than the plumped up effect I favour for a nighttime look. This mascara offers just that! My eyelashes looked sky high after using Roller Lash. It also gives you a great curl that lasts all day. I could not rave about this mascara more. If it’s not in your make-up bag you need to rectify that! Pronto!
Clarins Jolie Rouge Lipstick
Shade: 705 Soft Berry
Over the past few weeks this has been by far my favourite lipstick. This gorgeous pink berry shade has been on my lips non-stop. I first received it in a Clarins gift set a year or so ago and has been repurchased numerous times since. It’s one of those colours that I feel will suit all skin colours.
I also think that this colour gives the illusion that my lips are much more plump than they actually are, and who doesn’t want that?!
So there we have it, that’s what’s been living on my face this month!
Let me know if you have tried any of these brands, or tell me what your favourite makeup pieces are!
