January has been a very busy month for empties. I am making a conscientious effort to use up all my half used product and sample sizes over the next few months so that I can’t start on all the new products I got for Christmas in March when Spring arrives (as I have mentioned before I am a very seasonal beauty lover). I have separated them into categories:
*Silvikrin Classic Hairspray Natural Hold 250ml
I have only recently started using hairspray on a daily basis. I’ve become a little obsessed with having a really sleek ponytail.
I picked this up while I was out and about, I found this really effective in taming my fly aways and brushes right out. I also like that this hairspray helps to protect my hair from UV damage. This costs £3.29 and is available from Boots.
*Manic Panic – Vampire Red (118ml)
For a good few years now I have been dying my hair copper (I’m naturally ginger anyway) but I really wanted to step it up so I decided to go brighter. Vampire Red is a dark almost blood Red colour and is definitely a drastic change (I’ve added a pic). I love that this is a semi-permanent colour so it will wash out. It is also a 100% cruelty free product. I have already repurchased this item. Check out their Rainbow of colours at http://www.manic-panic.co.uk.
* Clinique Moisture Surge
This is amazing; it’s so lightweight and is quickly absorbed into the skin, which makes it perfect for applying before makeup. I received another pot of this for Christmas so I m well stocked up! I cannot recommend this more! If it’s within your budget, you need to make room for this in your skin routine. Available www.clinique.co.uk
* Elemis Rehydrating Ginseng Toner (200ml)
I love this toner! It tones, preserves oils and balances the PH of your skin. What more could you ask for! It is alcohol free so will not dry out your skin and smells so fresh. I have the Elemis apricot toner to use next but I am sad to see this guy go. This product costs £22.00 and is available from http://www.timetospa.co.uk
* Liz Earle Cleanse & polish (30ml)
I have had a lot of these samples and I’ve been using them up slowly.
I really like this cleanser, it’s so thick & creamy it really does feel like my skin is getting a treat. I will definitely be repurchasing the full sized product.
Available from www.lizearle.com
* Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream (7ml)
If any of you are looking for a multi-use wonder product then this is it. I use it every night on my lips and also on the dry skin I get behind my ears. I do have the full sized product but I love these miniatures for just popping in my handbag.
Eight-hour cream is available from Boots.com.
* Philosophy Purity 3-in-1 Cleanser (30ml)
I’m sorry philosophy but I hated using this product. It smelled really chemically and I didn’t find the results as good as other cleansers such as the Cleanse & Polish.
As you know I have a hand cream obsession, so it will come as no surprise that I finished off three tubes in January. Here they are:
* Soap & Glory Hand Food (125ml)
My best friend bought me this as part of my Christmas present & I used it within two weeks! It contains lots of goodies for your skin, such as Shea butter, Macadamia oil and Marshmallow. It smells delicious! I already have it’s replacement sat on my desk ready and waiting. Available from Boots priced £5.50.
*NEOM complete bliss Moroccan lush rose (50ml)
I’m not usually a fan of rose scented products but I did like this and it left my hands feeling super soft!
*Campaignie de Provonce – Créme pour les mains extra pur mediterranee (30ml)
I really liked the smell of this cream. It smelled really fresh and absorbed really quickly into my hands – a truly nice product. Available from www.lookfantastic.com
Now the next few items are items of makeup that I have retired as they have passed their freshness date or have dried up.
*L’Oreal Super Liner Perfect Slim
I have not used this liner in a while and made the silly mistake of storing them stood with the nib pointing up (store them lying down) so that it dried up. I love the thin pointed nib, as it’s perfect for adding a thin precise line on the lid. I will definitely be repurchasing this! Available from Boots priced £5.99
*L’Oreal Super Liner Blackbuster
The same storage disaster as above, I like to use this liner for drawing a thicker line and again, this will be a repurchase. Available from Boots priced £6.99
*Be a bombshell cosmetics Onyx Eyeliner
This wasn’t a storage disaster it has just passed it’s freshness date. I really liked this liner, the pigmentation was really dark and the nib allowed for precise application – you should check it out at www.beabombshellcosmetics.com
*NYC Big bold NYC mascara (12ml)
For a drugstore budget brand, this mascara is badass! A nice big wand, it separates lashes fantastically without clumping, It has just passed it’s freshness date. If you are looking for a inexpensive, high impact mascara then check this out. It costs £3.99 and is available from superdrug.
So that is all my empties for January. I’m sorry that there is so many but I really want plough through all my half used products so I can start a fresh come March.
