Duty Free Airport Haul!

Hello Ladies, in my last blog ‘Holiday Beauty Bargains’ I promised that I would write a blog on all the duty free goodies I picked up in the airport on the way home, so here it is 🙂

The first area that caught my eye  was the Clinique stand, mostly due to the massive Sale sign, which is always guaranteed to get my attention.  Is it just me, or do you guys think the word ‘Sale’ is one of the most beautiful words in the English language? 😀

The first items I picked up were the Colour Surge Mono Eye shadows.

Firstly I went for a stay matte colour in 607 slate. Like it’s namesake this is a beautiful Dark Grey colour, which I think would be great for a nice dark Smokey eye.  The colour was highly pigmented and went on smoothly. I’m a huge fan of matte effect eyes and lips so this was a great purchase for me. foxyfoxy swatch

Secondly I opted for a soft shimmer in 404 Foxy. This is a gentle, chocolate hue, which I feel is great for an everyday colour, or for a softer take on the Smokey.

The final Clinique product I bought was the Quick liner Intense in ‘Intense Chocolate’ A gorgeous, dark, brown colour which I thought would compliment the Foxy eye shadow perfectly. I adore the colour of this liner but I did find it took  some effort to smudge and the smudger felt quite rough on my skin.  Above is a picture of the liner on the left and then on the right after smudging.

You can purchase yours at the Clinique counter in Debenhams and also online at www.clinique.co.uk priced £15.00

I then went ahead and bought another brown eyeliner this time The Automatic Eye Pencil Duo by Estee Lauder in Walnut Brown. As I have mentioned in a previous blog, I am a huge fan of Estee Lauder products.

I adore this product because it is a dual ended eyeliner with a smudger on one end and the eyeliner on the other and also comes with a full refill in the box which makes for excellent value. I found the formula to be nice and creamy and went on neatly. It’s a really good product if you like to smudge your liners and it gave a nice subtle Smokey eye effect.  Unlike the dark chocolate colour of the Clinique pencil this has more of a chestnut tone so wasn’t as intense, but is beautiful all the same. Again on the left is the liner line and on the right is after smudging.

Estee Lauder Automatic Eye pencil Duo is available at Debenhams priced £18.50 or at http://www.esteelauder.co.uk

Essie nail pic

As you may have seen on my post ‘Feeling Fruity!!!’ the colour orange is everywhere this spring/summer  and I’ve been trying to find a nice vibrant orange  for my nails but most brands seem to offer only pastel shades so I was so excited to see the Essie Nail polish stand in the Airport.

I find Essie polishes always have really vivid colours and their display had just the shade I was looking for.I chose a deep orange colour, reminiscent of summer cocktails and perfectly named ‘Meet me at Sunset’.

With a nice wide brush, it made application quick and easy. This isn’t a speed dry formula so it did take a little while to dry but the colour and effect were perfect and were just what I’d been looking for.

Get yours in larger Boots stores or here http://www.essie.com/Colors/Corals/meet-me-at-sunset.aspx for $8.50

The last item, and Favourite was  the new ROUGE PUR COUTURE VERNIS À LÈVRES GLOSSY STAIN by Yves Saint Laurent.

I bought this in 09-Rouge Laque, which is  a Delicious Scarlett Lip-gloss & Stain that delivers lasting colour and a beautiful shine.

Once again this was in the sale, which made it an even more exciting purchase.

The only downside to this product is that the gloss goes on quite thinly, so you do need to build the colour. Because it is a stain though the colour does stay in place. I made the mistake of trying various colours on the back of my hand so I had a lovely rainbow stripe on the back of my hand on the flight home 😀

Again this is available from Debenhams priced £25.00 or from the YSL Website www.yslbeauty.co.uk/make-up/lips/rouge-pur-couture-vernis-a-levres

So that’s the contents of my Duty Free Haul.

I hope you enjoyed it and I hope that you are able to pick up similar deals when you go on your jollies.

After all every lady should treat themselves to a bargain 😀
