Be mine – Glossy Box xxx

Firstly I would like to apologise for the amount of time it has taken for me to write this blog but I am currently on holiday. I am lucky enough to be writing this blog on the balcony of my hotel room at the Hotel Botanico on the sunny island of Tenerife.

So apologies out of the way, it’s that’s time of the month – Glossy Box Time, and this month is the Valentines Edition. I was really looking forward to this box as the design has been heavily publicised on Facebook and on the Glossy box website. I wasn’t disappointed!

I would just like to say that when Glossy box decide to do a limited edition box they are always beautifully designed and are always super girly, I can never bring myself to throw them away so I now have a huge stock of them in the bedroom (much to my boyfriends annoyance) 🙂

When I opened the packaging for the February edition and saw the box I fell in love with it! With a black background and decorated in beautiful pink red and white lips it’s just a lovely feminine box. My first thought was that it would be perfect for lipstick storage! When I opened it the contents were wrapped with a lovely pink glossy box ribbon.

My first product was the Sparkling Body Shimmer by Nougat London 100ml.

To be honest I was so disappointed with this product. The first thing I thought of was this is a pound shop product. The bottle looked cheap as did the label. It looked very old fashion and aged – it was something I would have expected to be in an old ladies bathroom. I hoped the scent would be a saving grace, as I love anything cherry blossom scented, unfortunately this wasn’t the case. Once again it smelled cheap and the shimmer effect was so subtle it was non-existent! This retails at £14.00 for 250ml – a price I feel is astronomical when you consider the product. You can purchase at www.nougatlondon.co.uk

Secondly was the NV Chunky Eye Crayon  – 4g. I have never heard of this brand before but I was glad I got this and in a colour I normally wear – a lovely lilac! It went on smoothly and was such a nice vibrant colour. It retails at £5 for 4g a very reasonable price for a very nice product. I would be interested in trying other colours in the range.  Their website says that a brand new shopping site is launching later in the month – I can’t wait! http://www.nvcolour.com

Thirdly was the Ciaté London Paint Pot 13.5ml – in ‘Pocket Money’ a pretty pinky beige colour.

I have received this brand before in a previous Glossy box and I really liked it. Now I’m not usually a lover of Nude nails I love my nails to be bright colours but I really liked this colour it’s so pretty & chic. I would definitely use this for a job interview or any situation were I want to be understated, yet uber-feminine. Purchase yours for £9.00 at www.Ciate.co.uk

Next I Received the Giovanni Eco Chic Cosmetics Hair sachets. They are advertised as the #1 natural hair care brand in the USA. I suffer from an under-active thyroid and as an effect of this I get a very dried out and sometimes flaky scalp so I am always a little reserved about trying new shampoo & conditioners just incase they exacerbate it further. But if you’re interested – check out the range at http://www.healthbeautynetwork.co.uk.

They retail for £7.99 each.

My favourite product of the box was the New Maybelline Big Eyes mascara. I nearly bought this the day before my box arrived – I am so glad that I didn’t. The Mascara comes in two wands, a larger wand for the top lashes and a smaller wand for the lower lashes The press release for this mascara says that it ‘produces an all-round eye-opening effect’. It certainly does -I love this product and I would recommend it everyone! 🙂 It retails at £8.99 and is available from boots.

Finally I got a Lindt Lindor Treat Bar as an extra treat, and what girl doesn’t like chocolate???

All in all a great February valentines box – Thanks Glossy Box!!
